Governance & Compliance


Perspective is important for an owner-managed SME group such as Enable. We are very conscious of the need to have an external perspective from professionals and partner organisations who can give us that all-important broader view. The Enable Board is supported on a strategic level by Infusion Group, who bring vital challenge to our work. The Board is also supported on Financial Strategy and Performance by Clive Drysdale, our non-executive Director.   

Being a supplier of services to the public sector, transparency is important to us and to our clients, so we have designed our business management systems with auditing in mind. This is also key as we operate in regulated industries which regularly require us to demonstrate our capabilities and compliance through auditing.   

Across the business, we have several external auditors which help keep our governance in check. SRC Time provides us with our external audit of our Financial Accounts. The Planet Mark acts as our external auditor to measure and certify our Social Value Impact and our Carbon Footprint. BM Trada audit and certify our ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 accreditations. BSI audit and certify our ISO 44001 accreditation. Our railway industry accreditations are audited by RISQS (Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme). We are members of the Fleet Operators Registrations Scheme (FORS), and our fleet management is audited by FORS annually. For our Power Systems work, we are a NICEIC-approved contractor. And we hold a Principal Contractor’s Licence for works on Network Rail and Transport for London Infrastructure.
