We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Environmental Assistant to join our team and ensure our projects meet or exceed environmental regulations and standards.

The Environmental Assistant will play a vital role in integrating environmental considerations into all aspects of Enable Infrastructure operations. You will be required to support the Environmental & Sustainability Manager with the implementation of Enable’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and Carbon Reduction Plan.

This role would suit a graduate with 6-12 months experience in a graduate or Assistant Environmental role in a construction environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Be aware of environmental legislation and work as part of the team to ensure compliance
  • Assist with reporting environmental incidents and instigate any corrective actions required.
  • Assist with collecting, processing and interpreting environmental data to support Enables Carbon reduction plan and monthly environmental reporting.
  • Undertake Environmental Site inspections, highlighting any bad and good practice to the relevant teams and Environmental Manager.
  • Help co-ordinate and maintain the environmental training programme
  • Assist with the implementation of the project environmental plans and contract requirements on various Enable projects.
  • Assist with reviewing and updating Environmental compliance documentation such as project environmental plans and Work Package Plans.
  • Assist with project ecological requirements and seek to gain experience/training in the ecology field
  • Assist with meeting client environmental contract requirements, project objectives and business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Experience as an Environmental assistant/graduate within the construction industry is desirable.
  • Degree in Environmental Science or relevant (environmental related) subject is required.
  • IEMA membership will be an advantage
