Enable Infrastructure Completes Soho Depot Upgrade for West Midlands Trains

We’re proud to announce the successful completion of work – ahead of schedule – at the Soho Train Depot in Birmingham for our client, West Midlands Trains! This upgrade will support the new Class 730 Bombardier trains that are being rolled out.

This collaborative effort, led by Enable Infrastructure, saw our teams expertly deliver:

  • Concrete Track Foundations: Our team constructed the strip foundations to support the new Harmill Gantry.
  • Tracks: The Gantry rails were installed collaboratively with Harmill, ensuring seamless Track & Gantry integration.
  • Pitboards and Gantry: Harmill, our efficient contractor effortlessly installed these essential elements, contributing to a fully functioning train maintenance depot.

Early Completion: We proudly delivered the project ahead of schedule, demonstrating our commitment to efficiency and client satisfaction.

Synergy within Enable: Enable Hire provided all the necessary plant and equipment, while Enable Resourcing ensured a skilled and dedicated workforce.

High-Quality Design: Enable Design collaborated effectively with FJD, Harmill, EMEG, and Planet Platforms to produce a seamless and functional design.

Collaborative Spirit: Our working relationship with West Midlands Trains was an important cog in Enable being accredited with ISO 440001.

This successful project showcases Enable’s comprehensive capabilities in multi-disciplinary infrastructure services, and we’re proud to have partnered with West Midlands Trains on this vital upgrade to the Soho Train Depot.
