Our Enable Infrastructure team in South Wales is making good progress on its fourth troughing installation contract, which is in parallel with a trio of troughing projects for Transport for Wales in the Core Valley Lines area under our Package 13 framework = Ancillary Civils. Work commenced in February 2022 and is currently in line to conclude by August.

Dedicated gangs have been out delivering on our objectives, with a mix of work happening overnight and during the day, totalling more than 30 kilometres of troughing over the last 15 months. This includes stations, over bridges, and at off-track areas too. Our colleagues at Enable Design have also been key in supporting the successful programme.

This is an integral part of delivering the electrification of the Core Valleys Lines with commissioning imminent.

We are proud of our teams’ work to deliver this vital project, which will improve connectivity and sustainability in South Wales.

Andrew Wedlake, Regional Manager, said:
“We are really pleased to help TFW and Amey Infrastructure Wales to deliver the first stage of energisation for the Core Valley Lines electrification. We have developed a local team that is proud of and enjoy working on a scheme that they and their families will benefit from; this has resulted in an excellent quality product delivered efficiently and safely.”
